The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum, more commonly known as The Noguchi Museum, recently announced Kyoto Seika University graduate Hitomi Iwasaki as the museum’s next Head Curator and Director of Cultural Affairs effective September 2025.

Iwasaki began working as a curator at the Queens Museum in 1996, and currently serves as the museum’s head curator and director of curatorial affairs. With experience planning numerous groundbreaking exhibitions, Iwasaki has earned high praise in the world of contemporary art for her interdisciplinary curatorial approach.

In November 2018, Iwasaki was invited to Kyoto Seika University to hold a lecture and critique for students. Her visit provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the connection between art and contemporary society.

With Iwasaki’s appointment, The Noguchi Museum announces its intention to incorporate an increasingly diverse range of viewpoints and approaches in order to further promote the values of Isamu Noguchi’s artistic spirit. The Kyoto Seika University community wishes Iwasaki continued success in her new role.
