GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT

Getting Started in Japan

Alexander Draude will talk about his experiences and decisions that lead him from being an exchange student at Kyoto Seika University to pursuing a career as a concept artist in a game-development studio in Japan. After briefly introducing his background he will share some key points about studying abroad, job-hunting, and a deeper dive into life as a salaryman/concept artist. He will talk about what it is like to develop computer-games in Japan, and maybe share a few tips for getting the proverbial foot into the door of game-companies. After the presentation there will be time for questions and discussions about games, art and the wonderful experience of living in Japan.
