Workshops & Studios at the Faculty of Art Workspace

With dedicated equipment, workshops, and studios for each of the seven courses offered by the Faculty of Art, Kyoto Seika boasts some of the most well-equipped facilities and largest production spaces of any art university in Japan, and students are free to devote themselves to turning their ideas into works of art.
 
[Oil Painting Course]Students have their own individual space in the studio, with plenty of room to accommodate large-scale paintings

  • [Video & Media Arts Course]Studios where students can shoot puppets and hand-drawn animations
  • [Printmaking Course]Printmaking workshops where students can explore different printing techniques that include copperplate, lithograph, and silkscreen
  • [Japanese Painting Course]Studio for Japanese-style paintings where large-scale works can be laid flat for production
  • [Video & Media Arts Course]A computer room and digital editing workspace with 32 Macs dedicated to the Course in Video & Media Arts
  • [Ceramics Course]A large wheel room housing 30 electric potter's wheels
  • [Textiles Course]A weaving studio equipped with professional-grade looms
  • [Printmaking Course]A silkscreen workshop where students can print digital graphics and photographic images onto various materials, including paper, cloth, and metal
  • [Textiles Course]Studio for "katazome" dyeing. In addition to large two-dimensional works, there is also room to spread out and work with yukata and kimono fabrics.
