The Department of Language Teaching, Kyoto Seika University invites applicants for a faculty position as professor, associate professor, or lecturer.

5.Main Duties

1)
Teaching English required for 1st and 2nd year students (e.g., English 1, 2 ,3, 4, Business English 1, 2, and Academic Communication Skills 1,2)
2)
Conducting research in the field of foreign language teaching
3)
Duties related to the development and management of the foreign language curriculum
4)
Administrative duties at Kyoto Seika University
5)
Providing extracurricular activities for students
6)
Teaching other subjects/courses in the future is possible

6.Qualifications

Applicants should

1)
understand of the educational principle on which Kyoto Seika University is founded
2)
have a Ph.D. or the equivalent level in TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics or other related areas
3)
have at least three-year experience of teaching English language to Japanese college-level students
4)
design and manage global education and international exchange
5)
support students in extracurricular activities
6)
be familiar with English teaching in Japanese junior and senior high school
7)
be able to conduct administrative works in fluent Japanese
8)
have experience of coordinating foreign language subjects/courses/programs is preferred
9)
work cooperatively to develop and promote language classes

Applicants should write "Application for IEFL-2018" in red on the envelope. The submitted documents will not be returned unless requested. Applicants who wish to have them returned must enclose a self-addressed envelope with stamps to cover the return shipment.
The results will be informed to the applicants as soon as the screening is over. Announcement of the 1st screening results of is scheduled around December 25, 2017.
After documentary screening (the 1st screening), short-listed candidates will give a class demonstration and be interviewed (the 2nd screening). Depending on the situation, 3rd screening might be conducted.
Kyoto Seika University cannot provide finalists' travel and accommodation expenses for the interview and teaching demonstration.
