Note: The amount is as of 2011. In the case of SEIKA Overseas Student Scholarships, priority is given to students with demonstrated academic ability and commitment. It is unusual for SEIKA scholarships to be awarded to first-year undergraduate students. Please consult with our Student Affairs Office upon your admission.
Students enrolled at universities with which SEIKA has a current exchange agreement, selected by their home intuition for exchange at SEIKA, and accepted by a SEIKA department, may be eligible for JASSO Student Exchange Program Promotion Scholarship, awarded for six months, which provides a living allowance of 80,000 yen per month.
In each December, SEIKA informs JASSO how many exchange students are expected in the coming year.
In January JASSO notifies us whether SEIKA has been allotted any scholarships, and if so, we make the individual application(s) in February (for first semester) or May (for second semester). Results are announced in early March, and mid June.
Allocated Scholarships are rotated around our partner schools. Availability is not guaranteed.
If you are a prospective research student applying through a Japanese embassy for a Monkasho (Japanese Ministry of Education, Monbukagakusho) scholarship, intending to study at SEIKA, you should inquire about availability of a suitable supervisor at SEIKA as well as applying for the scholarship. (Such inquiries will be treated on a case by case basis).
