Kyoto Seika University was the first Japanese university to become a member of CUMULUS, International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, in 2007. We promote international exchange, believing that our students can be inspired by being exposed to different cultures. Students have opportunities to join full-semester exchange abroad at one of SEIKA's 25 partner institutions or to participate in various short-time overseas programs in Mali, Germany, Spain, Ireland, France, the USA, New Zealand, Thailand and Korea during summer and spring holidays. In addition to sending students abroad, SEIKA accepts many international students from countries around the world. International events are often held on campus and many strong international friendships develop. As of May, 2010, a total of 165 international students are enrolled at SEIKA, as undergraduates, graduate students and research students. They are from Canada, China, Finland, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Jamaica, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, the USA, Venezuela and Vietnam.
Background and application information is provided here for inbound Exchange Students, with downloadable factsheets describing full details of the exchange process, and necessary application forms. Background and advice is also provided for prospective non-degree Research Students. (kenkyusei)
