Shugakuin-so

SHUGAKUIN-SO, comprised of two main buildings, is Kyoto Seika University’s guest-house for visiting faculty and university guests.

It is located at the edge of the Higashiyama hills that form Kyoto’s eastern boundary. The Upper House has Western and Japanese-style rooms, a teahouse and extensive grounds.

Immediately to the north is the historical Shugakuin Imperial Villa (1659), with its vast garden, to the south-east, Manshu-in Temple, and to the south-west, Saginomori-jinja [Shrine]. Period of stay is limited to one month.
