Student Accommodation
Kino-ryo is
a fully renovated student dorm just a few minutes walk to the east
of campus, close by the International Office, for use by overseas
students. It was opened in March 2004, to replace dorms located
downtown.
Kino-ryo Minami (women's dorm) has 34 hachi-jo rooms (8-tatami,
13 square meters), and 18 roku-jo rooms (6-tatami,
10.2 square meters), plus spacious shared kitchen area, baths etc
Kino-ryo
Kita (men's dorm) has 17 roku-jo rooms (6-tatami,
10.2 square meters) and shared kitchen space, bathrooms etc.
Room
charges (per month*):
Hachijo (8
tatami-mat size) rooms cost 13,000 yen per month (plus 7,000 yen
utilities charge, covering electricity, gas, and water). Total:20,000
yen per month
Rokujo (6 tatami-mat size) rooms cost
10,000 yen per month (plus 6,000 yen utilities charge, covering electricity,
gas, and water). Total: 16,000
yen per month
For all rooms there is an additional once-only charge per semester for
rental futon set: 8,700 yen (as of fall
2008).

Internet
(Ethernet cable connexion) is available in all rooms, free of charge.
Kino
Village
Kino
Village has a long history that pre-dates the 14th century
period of the Southern and Northern Imperial Courts. It has long been
connected with ceramics, being known for production of oil lamps in
medieval times. It is still home to a working ceramics artist, and
has a number of old traditional minka-style style buildings and a kura-type
