To apply for exchange at CCA, you must first be
selected by KSU's International Exchange Committee. You need to provide a
portfolio
of art work, and pass an interview test. You must also take a
TOEFL test and
satisfy the committee members that your English is good enough
for you to study successfully in the US. After your exchange
is approved by KSU, we need to send the following documents
to CCA:
1) CCA's Exchange Application
Form, available here (see also useful exchange information)
3) A statement of purpose in English explaining
clearly what you want to study in CCA (please consult CCA course
lists)
4) Your most recent transcript (in English)
5) A letter of recommendation from your teacher
or head of department.
6) Your portfolio (A4 clearbook, slides, or CD-ROM)
After being accepted by a department in CCA, you will receive
a letter of acceptance from CCA, and your DS-2019
document, for a J-1 student visa

Accommodation: KSU exchange students at CCA usually stay at Webster
Hall, an elegant historical landmark building located 2.5
miles from CCA's Oakland campus. Designed by renowned architect
Julia
Morgan, the building features exceptional quality of light,
high ceilings, and sweeping views of the East Bay. It comprises

After being accepted by CCA, you can apply for accommodation by
sending the following documents:

You will also need to pay a deposit of $750.You can pay your first
rent payment after arriving.

Visa
application process:
After acceptance by CCA, they will send you an Application
for Form DS-2019 (for J-1 visa status)
Please fill it and return it together with a bank statement showing
that
you
have
enough
money
for one semester at CCA - about $6,500. (Please get two original statements,
as you
will
need another when you apply for your visa).(Due to the present economic situation,
this figure will probably be increased soon.)
When you receive
your DS-2019 from
CCA,
you
can
fill
out
and
download the online Electronic
Visa Application Form (DS-156).
(Important: it is necessary to use Internet Explorer!).
There are also two other
forms, the DS-157
and DS-158, to download and fill out.
You must
pay a SEVIS fee of $100, which can be paid online by credit
card on the SEVIS I-901 page.
After you fill out the Electronic Visa Application form you need to make
an appointment online (see checklist of necessary documents etc
in English and
in Japanese)
for an interview at the US
Osaka Consulate).The appointments page is accessed here.
You will need to select to pay a $131
application fee (as of September 2008) either online, or by Pay Easy
at
a
bank
ATM
or
Post
Office
ATM, within 48 hours.
After you pay the fee, a "Visa Appointment Notice" is e-mailed to you
(PDF format) to print out and bring to the interview.

•Your passport
• DS-156: EVAF Non-immigrant Visa Application Form with
the original fee receipt showing payment of the $100 visa application fee
• DS-157: Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form
• DS-158: Contact Information and Work History for Nonimmigrant
Applicant
• DS-2019 form
• SEVIS Fee Receipt (Form I-797)
• Bank statement, or financial statement proving that
you will be able to support yourself during your stay;
• One passport-type photograph (50 mm x 50 mm). The photo
must be a full face photo, taken within the past six months.
• Visa Appointment Notice, downloaded
after paying application fee.
• A copy of your transcript for the most recent years
of study, and
• A self-addressed "EXPACK 500" envelope (available
at post offices and some convenience stores)
• A clear plastic folder

Founded
in 1907, California College of the Arts (CCA) is the largest regionally
accredited, independent school of art and design in the western
United States.
San Francisco Campus
Located in the Potrero Hill neighborhood,
the San Francisco campus is home to the college's undergraduate
programs in architecture and design, as well as the college's graduate
programs.
Oakland Campus
The historic four-acre Oakland campus is home
to the college's undergraduate programs in art. First-year studios
