Graduates

Graduate School of Design, Department of Architecture

[PhD, M.A.]

The program at Department of Architecture at Kyoto Seika University Graduate School of Design is designed with two objectives:

-Encourage students to dive into the depth of individual themes.

-Gain experience with professional practice in order to bring ideas to reality.

At Graduate School, students dig further to elucidate the individual area of focus discovered at the undergraduate level. In other words, students create a “manifesto” that would guide their thinking as an architect in the future. Students develop their thinking and consolidate their focus by cross researching different intellectual discipline and ideas offered at the university.

On the other hand, we value practical training. At Seika, classes are taught by Professor Architects who offer practical training. The program is accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as two year practical training program. Therefore, the completion of the Master course meets the prerequisite for the 1st Class Architecture Licensing Exam.

We keep the enrollment size small, so that the students communicate face to face with the advisors.
